A young man was attacked with a sharp weapon in broad daylight at Narephat, Kathmandu Metropolitan City–32.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Karan Kumar Sah of Karjanha Municipality–10, Siraha, who currently lives in Narephat. He filed a complaint at the New Baneshwor Police Circle accusing the attackers of attempted murder and robbery.

According to the complaint, those involved include 18-year-old Abhishek Yadav of Dhanusha, currently residing in Tikathali, Lalitpur, 28-year-old Dhanraj Yadav, also from Dhanusha and living in Tikathali, along with five or six unidentified individuals.

The incident took place at around 2:00 PM on Friday. The victim claimed he sustained injuries to his hands, back, neck, and head in the knife attack.

Police sources said the attacker and victim are maternal uncle and nephew. According to investigators, the nephew had previously attacked his uncle in Tikathali after the uncle tried to counsel him. Police believe Friday’s attack was carried out in retaliation.

Kathmandu District Police spokesperson SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai said the suspects are currently on the run and a search operation is underway.
