Tragedy in the world of motocross in Australia. The pilot Joel Evans died last Sunday night after suffering a serious accident while competing in a circuit in Gilman, in Northern Adelaide.
The competitor, a native of Kinggaroy (Queensland), participated in the third test of the Australian promx championship, the most important in the country. He had a fall in the race and emergency services entered the track to attend him. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but hours later he died.
Family statement
The competitor’s own family gave the news on his social networks, with a statement that says: “Yesterday we lost the most incredible person in the world. The most authentic, dear and kind soul. He loved and dedicated his life to this sport that brought him so much joy, and persevered him until the end.”
“We are very grateful for the samples of love and support for our beautiful man. He is a partner, uncle, brother, friend and very dear son, but, above all, a proud father of our small beloved who joins us in October.”
“Please share your name, share your legacy; this incredible man deserves to be remembered through generations.”
“We love you very much, Joly.”
Previous accident
It is the case that Evans already had a serious incident in 2015, when he remained in a coma for a while and there was even a risk of being paraplegic. He recovered and competed again because, he said, it was what he wanted most.
