Pedro Acosta went from less to the last Grand Prix of the MotoGP World Cup. The Spanish GP did not start in the best way for the Murcian pilot, after registering the 12th best time in the classification session. Also, after a “frustrating” career to the ‘sprint’ in which 10º arrived, without scoring, the ‘Mazarrón Shark’ crossed the finish line in the seventh position in the Sunday race, closing the weekend with nine points for the general classification.

After cataloging the first race of the weekend as “the most frustrating of my life”, the KTM competitor was more positive with the performance of the entire team in the long race. In statements with the media ‘Motosan’, Acosta acknowledged that he has not been able to be in the fight for the front positions, but highlighted several positive points in the development of the appointment.
The big problem, the beginning of the great awards
“Well, in the end it is not being easy, but today the light has been seen a little. Half and the end of the race have been good, because we have recovered time to the group of the former, so there has been something good. The classification, as in Qatar, has not hurt too much. I have also made a disaster in the first curve, but the truth that the feeling of the middle and the end of the race has been good, for what I tell you, I was rolling with my return.
In this way, the Murcian revealed that the greatest of the problems is the beginning of the races, since he cannot follow the track to the first classified. “You have to understand how they are able to put so much grip on the floor the first laps and take it easy, there is no more.”

Also, the KTM pilot said that “the first part of the race is the one that is killing us most.” However, the situation in the last turns of the Grand Prix changed exponentially. “There has been a time at the end of the race that we were the fastest on the track and we have recovered time. So now it is necessary to classify well, that is the most important thing right now, and understand how to put grip on the ground in the first part of the race, which is what we lack.”
Follow the concern with KTM
Although the ‘shark’ was satisfied with his positive end of the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez, I did not doubt in demonstrating his current concern. “From 1 to 10? 12,” he said. “It is clear that we are neither living our best moment, nor based on results, nor based on problems, nor in many bases. Then you have to continue pushing and continue little by little. It is what I tell you: the Noria has to climb, the water mills, if not, the water does not move. This before or later goes up,” he explained graphically.

On the test they will have on Monday, Acosta was very clear about expectations: “In the end there are new things, but I think they are not things that really will solve my life from night. You have to look for a stable motorcycle base, which right now we do not have it. One day the motorcycle is going well, another day goes badly and from one session to another the subject changes me. You have to look for that, that little by little makes us create a base.”
