Hunter Killed After Gun Accident in Makwanpur Forest

A man has died after a hunting gun accidentally fired in a forest in Makwanpur.

The incident happened in the Sisneripakhera forest of Manahari Rural Municipality–6. Police said a muzzle-loading gun carried by 45-year-old Gopal Blon of Raksirang Rural Municipality–8 suddenly went off while he was hunting with his co-worker.

According to police, Blon and 50-year-old Sete Thing of Balubhanjyang, Manahari–6, had gone hunting together, each carrying a gun. While walking ahead, Blon tripped on vines and fell. His gun accidentally fired, and the bullet hit Thing, who was walking behind him. Thing died on the spot.

Police teams from Manahari Area Police Office and Sunachari Police Post reached the scene and arrested Blon along with both guns. The body is being prepared to be taken to the hospital for examination, and further investigation is ongoing.
