Lumbini Lions Set 135-Run Target for Biratnagar Kings

Lumbini Lions have given Biratnagar Kings a target of 135 runs in the second qualifier of the Siddhartha Bank Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Batting first after losing the toss at the TU International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur, Lumbini scored 134 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

For Lumbini, opener D’Arcy Short scored the highest 45 runs. He faced 41 balls and hit 3 fours and 1 six.

Lumbini lost their first wicket when Dinesh Adhikari was out for just 1 run with the team score at 8. Short and captain Rohit Paudel shared a 69-run partnership for the second wicket. Rohit scored 34 runs off 30 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Opener Dinesh Adhikari again failed to perform well in this match.

Wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella added 29 runs with 4 fours in 22 balls.

Sandeep Jora and JJ Smith were out without scoring, while Dilip Nath was dismissed for 1 run. Sher Malla added 7 runs.

Lumbini were 69/1 in the first 10 overs, but they struggled later. In the last 10 overs, they added only 65 runs and lost 7 wickets.

For Biratnagar, bowlers Subhash Bhandari, captain Sandeep Lamichhane, and Pratish GC bowled brilliantly, taking wickets at regular intervals and putting pressure on Lumbini.

Subhash took 3 wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs. Pratish took 3 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs. Captain Sandeep took 2 wickets for 18 runs in his 4-over spell.

The winner of this match will reach the final and compete against Sudurpaschim Royals for the title.
