Man City, Aston Villa Held to Draws as Arsenal Strengthen Title Lead

Manchester City and Aston Villa were both held to draws in the English Premier League on Wednesday, a result that further benefited league leaders Arsenal in the title race.

City were held to a 1–1 draw by Brighton, while Aston Villa played out a goalless draw against Crystal Palace.

Manchester City took the lead through Erling Haaland but were unable to maintain their advantage. Kaoru Mitoma scored the equaliser for Brighton at the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland’s goal took his total tally to 150 goals for Manchester City. City now have 43 points from 21 matches, with Aston Villa also on 43 points. Arsenal remain top of the table with 48 points.

In other matches, a 10-man Chelsea suffered a 2–1 defeat to Fulham. Bournemouth beat Tottenham 3–2, Brentford defeated Sunderland 3–0, and Newcastle United edged past Leeds United 4–3. Everton and Wolves played out a 1–1 draw.
