Six Arrested in Theft and Robbery Case in Bhaktapur

Police have arrested six people involved in theft and robbery in Bhaktapur.
Four men were caught on Friday for robbing the house of Krishna Bhakta Kasula in Nikosera Dhungedhara, Madhyapur Thimi-9. Two other escaped prisoners have also been arrested.

According to police, the robbers entered the 76-year-old Kasula’s house through a window. They hit him on the head with a piece of wood, injured him, and fled with valuables.
DSP Prakash Jabegu of Bhaktapur District Police said Kasula is receiving treatment at Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal.

The arrested suspects are:

  • Bikram Thapa (27) from Dhulikhel-3, currently living in Kamalbinayak, Bhaktapur
  • Ram Bahadur Tamang (30) from Roshi-1, living in the same area
  • Lokendra Pun (43) from Parivartan-4, Rolpa, living in Kamalbinayak
  • Raju Rai (40) from Belatar, Udayapur, also living in Kamalbinayak

Police said Thapa and Tamang were previously involved in theft, robbery, and drug-related crimes.

In addition, one prisoner who had escaped from the Thimi Police custody during the Gen-Z movement has been arrested. The man, Nikesh Raut (30) from Gaththaghar, Madhyapur Thimi-3, was taken into custody. Another escaped prisoner was also arrested later, police confirmed.
