Two People Seriously Injured in Bear Attack in Rasuwa

Two people were seriously injured after a wild bear attacked them in the Khalchet area of southern Rasuwa today.

The injured have been identified as 65-year-old Man Bahadur Tamang from Naukunda Rural Municipality-5, Khalchet, and 50-year-old Shiva Prasad Gajurel from Kalika Rural Municipality-5, Digau. According to local resident Ram Prasad Paudel, the bear attacked them early this morning.

Locals said the bear came out of the forest of Langtang National Park and attacked the men while they were cutting grass on private land. After receiving first aid from the community, both injured individuals were sent to Kathmandu for further treatment, police officer DSP Hem Bahadur Shahi said.
