Nepal Placed in Challenging Group for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026

Nepal has been drawn into a highly competitive Group C for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to take place in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8. Group C features Nepal alongside two-time T20 World Cup winners England and West Indies, as well as Bangladesh and tournament debutants Italy.

This will mark the first time Nepal faces both England and Italy in a T20 World Cup setting. However, Nepal previously defeated West Indies 2-1 in a three-match series held in Sharjah in September. Italy qualified for the World Cup for the first time by advancing from the European regional qualifiers, alongside the Netherlands, ahead of Scotland. This tournament will be Nepal’s third appearance in the T20 World Cup.

Nepal will face Bangladesh for the third consecutive time in the tournament, having previously been defeated by them in both the 2014 edition in Bangladesh and the T20 World Cup held in the USA and West Indies.

The tournament features 20 participating teams divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage, which will be divided into two separate groups. The top two teams from each Super Eight group will then qualify for the semi-finals.
