Guidelines and standards for advertising on Niriv's platform.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Niriv Advertising. Our platform provides brands, businesses, and content creators with an opportunity to reach a Nepali audience through targeted advertising. This policy outlines who can advertise, what content is allowed, and how our advertising system works.

By advertising on Niriv, you agree to comply with this policy and all applicable laws and regulations.

2. Who Can Advertise?

Niriv accepts advertising from:

  • Legitimate Businesses: Companies with valid registrations and licenses
  • Content Creators: YouTubers, bloggers, artists promoting their work
  • Local Entrepreneurs: Small businesses and startups
  • Non-Profits: Charitable organizations and NGOs
  • Educational Institutions: Schools, colleges, training centers
  • Government Organizations: Public service announcements (case-by-case basis)
Verification Required: Advertisers must provide accurate business information and may be required to submit verification documents.

3. Prohibited Content

Ads containing the following are NOT allowed on Niriv:

Illegal Products and Services

  • Drugs, narcotics, or controlled substances
  • Firearms, weapons, or ammunition
  • Counterfeit goods or pirated content
  • Illegal gambling or unlicensed betting
  • Hacking services, phishing, or fraud schemes

Adult Content

  • Pornographic or sexually explicit material
  • Dating sites with adult themes (general dating sites are allowed)
  • Escort or sexual services

Misleading or Deceptive Content

  • False or exaggerated claims
  • Ponzi schemes, pyramid schemes, or get-rich-quick scams
  • Fake news or conspiracy theories
  • Misleading financial advice or "guaranteed" investment returns
  • Miracle cures or unproven health claims

Discriminatory Content

  • Hate speech based on race, religion, gender, caste, or ethnicity
  • Content promoting discrimination or violence

Political Content (Special Review Required)

  • Political party advertisements require prior approval
  • Campaign ads must comply with Nepal's election laws
  • We reserve the right to reject or restrict political advertising

Malicious or Harmful Software

  • Malware, viruses, or spyware
  • Phishing attempts or data theft schemes

4. Ad Content Requirements

Creative Standards

  • Feed Card Ads: High-quality images/videos (1280x720 minimum), clear headlines, and concise descriptions (max 150 characters)
  • Banner Ads: Responsive designs that work on all screen sizes, recommended 3:1 aspect ratio for main images
  • Text Clarity: All text must be clearly readable and not misleading
  • Logo & Branding: Your logo and brand elements should be professional and recognizable

Language Requirements

  • Primary content should be in Nepali or English
  • All claims must be accurate and verifiable
  • Pricing must be clearly displayed in NPR (Nepali Rupees)

5. Approval Process

Submission

  • Create your campaign through the Niriv Advertising dashboard
  • Upload creatives, set targeting, and submit for review

Review Timeline

  • Standard Ads: Reviewed within 24-48 hours
  • Complex Ads: May take up to 72 hours
  • Political/Restricted Content: Case-by-case basis, 3-7 days

Approval Criteria

  • Content complies with this policy
  • Advertiser is verified and legitimate
  • Creative quality meets our standards
  • Landing page is functional and relevant

6. Ad Labeling Requirements

All ads on Niriv are clearly labeled as "Sponsored" to maintain transparency. This label:

  • Appears prominently on the ad
  • Is mandatory and cannot be removed or hidden
  • Helps users distinguish between organic content and advertisements

7. Targeting and Data Usage

Available Targeting Options

  • Location: Target by province, city, or Nepal-wide
  • Interests: Tech, lifestyle, entertainment, finance, etc.
  • Device Type: Mobile, desktop, or both
  • Demographics: Age and gender (with user consent)

How We Use Data for Ads

We use anonymized and aggregated data to:

  • Show relevant ads to users who might be interested
  • Measure ad performance (impressions, clicks, conversions)
  • Optimize targeting to improve results
  • Prevent ad fraud and abuse

We do NOT:

  • Sell your personal data to advertisers
  • Allow advertisers to target individuals by name or email
  • Use sensitive personal information for ad targeting without consent

8. Ad Performance and Analytics

Advertisers have access to:

  • Impressions: Number of times your ad was shown
  • Clicks: Number of users who clicked on your ad
  • CTR: Click-through rate percentage
  • Cost: Total spending on your campaign
  • Device Breakdown: Performance on mobile vs. desktop
  • Geographic Distribution: Where your ads were shown

9. Billing and Payment

Payment Methods

  • eSewa (recommended)
  • Khalti
  • Niriv Pay (wallet system)
  • Bank transfer (for large campaigns)

Minimum Budget

  • Daily minimum: NPR 500
  • Total campaign minimum: NPR 1,000
  • No maximum limit

Billing Models

  • CPC (Cost Per Click): Pay only when users click on your feed card ads
  • CPM (Cost Per 1,000 Impressions): Pay based on how many times banner ads are displayed

10. Prohibited Practices

Advertisers must NOT:

  • Use clickbait or misleading headlines to attract clicks
  • Create fake urgency (e.g., "Only 2 left!" when unlimited stock exists)
  • Manipulate ad performance metrics through fraudulent means
  • Target competitors' trademarks or brand names
  • Create duplicate campaigns to game the system

11. Ad Rejection and Appeals

Common Rejection Reasons

  • Content violates our prohibited content policy
  • Creative quality is too low (blurry, pixelated, unprofessional)
  • Landing page is broken, misleading, or contains prohibited content
  • Advertiser information cannot be verified

Appeals Process

If your ad is rejected, you can:

  • Review rejection reasons provided in the dashboard
  • Fix issues and resubmit the ad
  • Contact our advertising support team for clarification
  • Request manual review if you believe rejection was incorrect

Appeals are typically reviewed within 24-48 hours.

12. Refund Policy

Refunds may be issued in the following circumstances:

  • Technical Errors: If a technical issue on Niriv's side prevents your ads from running
  • Ad Rejection (Pre-Launch): Refund of campaign budget if ad is rejected and cannot be resubmitted
  • Cancellation: Full refund if campaign is cancelled within 24 hours of approval and before any ads are served
  • Prorated Refund: For campaigns paused due to policy violations (refund for unused budget only)

No refunds will be issued for:

  • Poor ad performance or low click-through rates
  • Changes in market conditions or user behavior
  • Advertiser errors in campaign setup or targeting
  • Campaigns that have already served impressions/clicks

13. Liability and Indemnification

Advertisers are solely responsible for:

  • The content and accuracy of their advertisements
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Obtaining necessary licenses, permissions, and rights for content used in ads
  • Claims made in advertisements and related landing pages

Advertisers agree to indemnify Niriv Corporation against any claims arising from their advertisements.

14. Modification of Policy

We reserve the right to update this Advertising Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated to active advertisers via email or dashboard notification. Continued advertising on Niriv after policy updates constitutes acceptance of the modified policy.
