Fatal Shooting at California Birthday Party Leaves Four Dead

A mass shooting at a child’s birthday party in California has resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals and left ten others wounded, according to American police reports cited by the BBC.

The incident took place on Saturday evening at a restaurant in the city of Stockton, California. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office reported the shooting occurred shortly before 6:00 PM local time.

Office spokesperson Heather Brent described the event as “unimaginable.” Authorities have launched a highly active investigation, noting that initial indications suggest the attack may have been premeditated. Investigators are currently examining all possible motives.

The perpetrator remains at large. Stockton Vice Mayor Jason Lee expressed his distress on social media, stating that a birthday party should not be a place where families fear for their lives.

Local police confirmed that the victims include both children and adults. The current medical condition of those who were injured has not yet been officially confirmed.
