Driver Dies After Truck Falls Into Surunaya River, Baitadi

In Baitadi, a mini-truck accident has killed the driver on the spot.

The mini-truck (plate number Be 1 Kha 1639) was traveling from Surunaya-4 Sansermadau toward Dhangadhi when it crashed on the inner dirt road of the Satbanj–Sirbhanwar route. The accident happened on Thursday night at Kathegauna in Surunaya-5.

According to Baitadi District Police Office spokesperson Inspector Baldev Badu, the driver, around 28-year-old Naresh Mahara from Kauladi, Surunaya-4, died at the scene.

The truck fell about 50 meters down the road into the Surunaya River.
