Restaurant Worker Shot Dead in Bardiya

A 27-year-old man, Niraj Chaudhary, who worked at Hamar Tharu Ghar Tharu Restaurant in Rajapur Municipality–4, was shot dead.

He was found unconscious inside the restaurant and taken to the Teaching Hospital in Nepalgunj for treatment, but he died there, according to Inspector Prakash Singh Karki of the Bardiya District Police Office.

Police said the bullets hit his cheek and both ears. Bullet shells were also found at the scene, Inspector Karki added.

His body has been kept in Nepalgunj for a post-mortem, and more information will be available after the report. Niraj, from Dang, Tulsipur Municipality–5, was shot by an attacker who escaped on a motorcycle, police said.

Police also stated that they cannot give detailed information until the post-mortem report is available. The reason behind the shooting and the identity of the shooter are still unknown. The District Police Office and Area Police Office are investigating the case.
