Jeep Accident Reported in Darchula

A 22-year-old man died following a vehicle accident in the Marma Rural Municipality of Darchula district. The incident occurred when a jeep, registered as Sudurpashchim Province 01-001 Cha 2604, lost control and veered off the road at Bhise Bagar in Marma-3.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Jora of the Sudurpashchim Province Traffic Office, the victim was identified as Keshavraj Joshi. Initial reports indicate that the vehicle rolled approximately 200 meters down the slope, and Mr. Joshi was found pinned underneath the wreckage.

Emergency responders extracted Mr. Joshi from the site and transported him to the Marma Basic Health Post for urgent medical attention. Despite efforts by medical staff, he was pronounced dead during the course of his treatment.

Police have taken the driver of the vehicle into custody as part of the ongoing investigation. The driver has been identified as 26-year-old Madhav Mahara, a resident of Marma Rural Municipality-6, Seri.

Authorities are currently investigating the technical cause of the accident to determine why the driver lost control of the vehicle. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding road safety and vehicle maintenance in the steep terrain of the Sudurpashchim Province.
