Truck Carrying Rice and Husks Overturns at Dhankuta Zero Point

A cargo truck transporting rice and husks overturned at Zero Point in Dhankuta-7 on Tuesday morning after experiencing a mechanical failure. The vehicle was traveling from Dharan toward Hile when the accident occurred along a segment of the Koshi Highway.

Local police reports indicate that the truck, identified by registration number Na 7 Kha 1161, suffered a steering lock while in motion. This technical malfunction caused the driver to lose control, resulting in the vehicle falling approximately 10 meters off the roadway.

The driver of the truck, 28-year-old Indra Magar, and his assistant sustained minor injuries in the crash. According to Dhankuta Traffic Police Chief Manoj Khadka, both individuals are receiving necessary medical attention and are reported to be in stable condition.

Traffic authorities have arrived at the scene to manage the wreckage and investigate the specific cause of the steering failure. The incident caused a brief disruption in local transport, but officials are working to ensure the safety of the perimeter and prevent further hazards.
