Motorcyclist Dies in accident at Roadside Drain in Damak

A 38-year-old man died in a motorcycle accident on a rural road in Damak-7, Jhapa, on Tuesday night. The victim has been identified as Binod Rai, a resident of Kamal Rural Municipality-6.

According to District Police Office Deputy Superintendent Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, the motorcycle was traveling from the Hanuman Temple area toward the Ratuwa Bridge. The vehicle, registered as Bagmati Province 02-017 Pa 3344, veered off the road and fell into a water-filled drainage ditch on the eastern side of the path.

The accident occurred at Laligurans Tole along an inner road segment. Emergency responders and a police team led by Deputy Superintendent Kishore Lamsal from the Area Police Office in Damak arrived at the scene shortly after the incident to begin legal and investigative procedures.

Initial reports suggest that low visibility or road conditions may have contributed to the vehicle entering the drain. Police have taken the motorcycle into custody as part of the ongoing investigation into the exact cause of the crash.
