Four Young Girls Drown to Death in Mahottari

Four young girls have tragically drowned to death in separate incidents in Mahottari district. According to the District Police Office, three girls lost their lives on Friday in a river flowing through Sarapallo village in Manara Siswa Municipality-7, while another toddler drowned in Rajakhor village of Gaushala Municipality-4.

The victims from Sarapallo (Manara Siswa-7) have been identified as 12-year-old Sneha Kumari Bhandari and her 6-year-old sister Shivani Kumari Bhandari (daughters of Birendra Bhandari), alongside 12-year-old Afsana Khatun (daughter of Aziz Nadaf).

The three girls had gone to bathe on Friday afternoon at the confluence of the Ankushi and Jangha rivers. According to authorities, they slipped into deep water and drowned while bathing.

In a separate incident, a two-year-old toddler, Deepika Kumari, drowned in a waterlogged field near her home. She was the daughter of Naresh Mahato, a resident of Rajakhor village in Gaushala-4.

The bodies of all four girls have been sent to the Provincial Hospital in Jaleshwar for post-mortem examinations.
