One Killed, Eight Injured in Jeep Accident in Gulmi

One person was killed and eight others injured in a jeep accident in Ruru Rural Municipality–1, Kholtepani, Gulmi district, along the Madan Bhandari Road (Ridi–Kharjyang section).

The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when a jeep (registration number Lu 1 Cha 6985) traveling from Jogithum in Palpa toward Ridi Ghat, carrying mourners, veered off the road and fell approximately 10 meters down the slope.

The injured were rescued and taken to Ruru Primary Health Center in Ridi for treatment. Among them, 26-year-old Tikaram Kumal of Ribdikot Rural Municipality–1, Palpa, was declared dead by doctors, according to Gulmi Deputy Superintendent of Police Gangabahadur Saru. Police said Kumal had sustained a severe head injury.

The condition of the other injured passengers is reported to be stable, and they are currently undergoing treatment.
