One Dead, Two Injured in Bus Crash on Mugling–Kathmandu Highway

A road accident happened on the Mugling–Kathmandu highway at Das Kilo, Thakre Rural Municipality–6 in Dhading. Two buses crashed into each other, and one person died in the accident.

The accident happened today at around 7:30 AM. One bus was coming to Kathmandu from Dang, and another bus was going from Kathmandu towards Rasuwagadhi. A reserved bus heading to Rasuwa was also involved in the crash.

After the collision, one of the buses hit a small tin-roofed shop beside the road, causing damage to the shop.

Police said that 35-year-old Sujan Tamang from Dhunibesi Municipality–9, Syaule in Dhading died in the accident. He had stopped near the shop to drink tea after parking his tipper truck. He was seriously injured and taken to the Trauma Center, but he died during treatment.

In the same accident, the shop owner, 54-year-old Khageshwar Sharma from Baijanath Rural Municipality–1, Banke, was injured. Also injured was 8-year-old Safalta Pulami Magar, who was travelling in the bus going to Rasuwa.

Police have taken the bus drivers into custody and are investigating the accident.
