An earthquake struck the area around Kanchenjunga in Taplejung. The earthquake occurred at 2:47 a.m. today.

According to the National Earthquake Measurement and Research Center, the earthquake measured 4.0 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter was located near the Nepal–India border. Tremors were felt in several districts of eastern Nepal.

No reports of damage have been received so far.
