14 Killed in Bus–Truck Collision in Andhra Pradesh

At least 14 people were killed in a road accident near Rayavaram in Markapuram district of Andhra Pradesh, India.

The crash occurred on Thursday morning when a private bus collided with a truck near a local tile quarry, causing both vehicles to catch fire.

According to Markapuram DSP Harshavardhan Raju, all 14 victims were passengers on the bus. Several others were injured in the incident.

Reports say both the bus and the truck were severely burned in the fire.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the tragedy and announced compensation of ₹200,000 for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured.
