A four-year-old boy died after drowning in a water-filled pit in Mahottari district on Tuesday morning.

According to police, the victim has been identified as Aman Kumar Sah, a resident of Bathnaha in Manara Siswa Municipality-9.

Police said the child drowned in stagnant water that had collected in a pit located behind his own house. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning.

Authorities have said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
