22 Injured in Bus accident in Makawanpur

Twenty-two people were injured in a passenger bus accident at Bijouna in Manahari Rural Municipality–7 of Makwanpur district, along the East–West Highway section. The injured have been taken to Chitwan for medical treatment.

The accident occurred at around 7:00 am on Sunday when a passenger bus (registration number Ba Pra 06–001 Kha 0054) traveling from Birgunj to Chitwan lost control and crashed into an electricity pole on the left side of the road.

A team of 16 police personnel, including traffic officers, led by Inspector Deepak Thapa from the Area Police Office, Manahari, was deployed to the scene. According to police, all 22 injured passengers sustained minor to moderate injuries.

District Police Office Makwanpur Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati said that all the injured were rescued and sent to Chitwan for treatment. The bus remains at the accident site, and traffic along the highway has not been obstructed. The accident site is located about one kilometer west of the Area Police Office, Manahari.
