One Killed, Five Injured in Bus Accident in Kapilvastu

A bus accident on Thursday morning in Shivaraj Municipality–1, Bankasbas, Kapilvastu along the East–West Highway, killed one person and injured five others.

According to the local police office, the accident happened around 2 a.m. when a passenger bus (Ba. Pra. 01–006 Kha 8506) traveling from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi hit a pedestrian and then lost control, overturning on the road.

The pedestrian, a man around 50–55 years old, died while being taken to the Chandrapur Basic Health Service Hospital for treatment. His identity has not yet been confirmed, said Inspector Santosh Ghimire of the Chandrapur Area Police Office.

The injured passengers are being treated at Sanjivani Community Hospital in Chandrapur, and their condition is reported to be normal.
