More than 10 injured in student bus accident in Rupandehi

More than 10 people were injured, some of them seriously, after a bus carrying students of Shanti Namuna Secondary School met with an accident in Omstiya–4, Basantapur, Rupandehi.

The bus (registration number Lu 1 Kha 8675), which was returning after picking up students from the Parasi area, collided with a tractor near the toll gate early this morning.

According to Omsatiya Rural Municipality Chairperson Manjit Kumar Yadav, the accident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. The injured students have been admitted to Bhairahawa Medical College for treatment.

“Some of the injured have suffered head injuries and are currently undergoing treatment,” Chairperson Yadav said from the hospital.

Further details about the incident are yet to be received.
