10 Killed in School Shooting in British Columbia

Ten people have been killed in a shooting at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School and a nearby home in British Columbia, Canada.

Six people died inside the school, and one more died while being transported to the hospital. The bodies of two others were found at a nearby residence. Police suspect that the attacker died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Two individuals are in critical condition and were airlifted to the hospital by helicopter. Approximately 25 other injured people are receiving treatment at a local medical center.

All remaining students and staff were safely evacuated.

Authorities have not yet released information about the motive behind the attack or the identity of the suspect. According to Canadian media reports, the attacker may have been a woman.

British Columbia Premier David Eby described the incident as an “unimaginable tragedy” and expressed his condolences. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney postponed his visit to Munich following the incident.
