27th Flora Expo to Begin in Flora Expo from Chaitra 5 in Kathmandu

The 27th Flora Expo 2082 will be held in Kathmandu from Chaitra 5 with the aim of developing and promoting Nepal’s floriculture industry.

Organized by the Floriculture Association Nepal (FAN), the four-day expo will take place at Bhrikutimandap and will run until Chaitra 8.

According to FAN, this year’s expo will be organized under the theme “Floriculture for a Clean Environment and Economic Prosperity.” The event is expected to bring together floriculture producers, entrepreneurs, and consumers under one roof.

To make the expo more attractive and competitive, nursery entrepreneurs will compete in various categories, said Expo Coordinator and FAN Senior Vice President Ram Bahadur Tamang.

The competition will include categories such as best stall, landscaping, seasonal flowers, ornamental plants, floral decoration, and cut flowers including roses, gerbera, and carnations. A participating nursery or firm will be allowed to compete in a maximum of three categories.

Outstanding participants will be honored with shields, cash prizes, and certificates during the opening ceremony of the expo, the organizers said.

For businesses interested in participating, stall booking will open from 10:00 AM on Magh 22. Stalls can be reserved by submitting a 50 percent advance payment at the FAN office.

According to the organizers, the stall fee has been set at Rs 29,000 for FAN members and Rs 50,000 for non-members, while restaurant stalls will cost Rs 50,000.

FAN stated that the expo will provide an important opportunity for nursery operators, wholesale and retail sellers, importers, exporters, and suppliers to expand their businesses.

A large turnout of flower enthusiasts and consumers is expected at the expo.
