Clash Erupts Between Ashram Followers and Locals in Dhanusha, Dozen Injured

A clash broke out between followers of Satlok Ashram and local residents in Sugjor, Mithila Municipality–2, Dhanusha. Police reported that around a dozen people from both sides were injured in the incident.

The confrontation occurred at Satlok Ashram, led by Satpal Maharaj, over a dispute concerning surrounding public land. A land survey had been scheduled on Saturday, which led to the clash between the ashram’s followers and the locals.

As tensions escalated while locals tried to reclaim the land, both groups blocked the Mahendranagar–Janakpur road at the Ori Bridge section, shouting slogans. The altercation began when ashram followers allegedly chased and beat the locals, prompting the locals to unite and fight back, resulting in a two-sided clash.

The injured were taken to Janaki Medical College and Provincial Hospital in Janakpur for treatment.
