Driver Killed in Jeep accident on Kaligandaki Corridor Road

A jeep accident along the Kaligandaki Corridor Road has claimed the life of the driver, Sajjan Pariyar.

The incident occurred on Monday evening at Mudikuwa, Ward No. 4 of Phalewas Municipality, along the Kushma–Phalewas road section near the bank of the Kaligandaki River. The jeep (registration number Ga 1 Ja 8029), which was carrying urea fertilizer from the district headquarters, Kushma Bazaar, to Phalewas, veered off the road and fell approximately 30 meters down.

According to Police Inspector Dinesh Paudel of the District Police Office, the 35-year-old driver was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident. He was rescued and was being transported to the Provincial Hospital, but he died on the way.

Police suspect that the accident may have been caused by slippery uphill roads due to rainfall. A rescue team from the Armed Police Force Chandika Battalion and the District Police Office carried out the operation under difficult conditions, according to Armed Police Force Superintendent Kshitij Kshetri.
