Sumo Driver Missing for 3 Days Found Dead in Udayapur

The body of Dipendra KC, around 40 years old from Lubhu, Mahalaxmi Municipality-8 in Lalitpur, who had been missing for three days along with his Sumo vehicle, has been found in Pakhemara cliff, Katari-14, Udayapur.

According to the Katari Area Police Office, the damaged Sumo was found about 300 meters below the road on Monday evening. KC’s body was found near the crashed vehicle. Police brought the body to Katari Hospital for a post-mortem late at night. KC had left on 13 Mangsir, saying he was going to Rupatar in Tapli Rural Municipality, Udayapur with the Sumo (No. Na 1 Ja 5812).

The vehicle had been reserved to take a wedding group to Rupatar, so KC had set out alone. He had checked in at the Khukot Police Post in Sindhuli on Saturday night, but after that, he could not be contacted.

KC’s wife, Sushila Karki, who was in Dudhauli, Sindhuli, said he had informed her that he had reached near Ghurmi in Katari-14, and then he went missing.

His phone would ring but he did not answer, so locals and police searched the Katari-14 area. During the search, his body was found on a steep cliff along the Katari–Ghurmi section of Siddhicharan Highway.

Police believe the accident may have happened around midnight. There are no villages nearby, and the area is steep and isolated, so no one knew about the incident until the search was carried out.
