House Destroyed in Early Morning Fire in Harpukot, Gulmi

A house was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out early Sunday morning in Harpukot, Ward No. 1 of Isma Rural Municipality, Gulmi District.

According to police, the fire started at around 3:45 am in a two-storey mud house roofed with corrugated zinc sheets belonging to Lekh Bahadur Bohara. The house was reportedly vacant at the time of the incident.

Bohara is currently in India for employment. As soon as the incident was reported, a team of four police personnel led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Binay Kumar Srivastava from the Hasti Chaur Police Post was deployed to the scene. Similarly, a nine-member team from the Armed Police Force Gulmi, under the command of Assistant Sub-Inspector Kushal Kakshapati, also rushed to the site.

With the support of local residents and a fire engine from Resunga Municipality, the fire was brought under control at around 5:10 am, police said.

No human or livestock casualties were reported in the incident. However, the house was completely gutted by the fire. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and a detailed assessment of the damage is still pending. Police stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
