Ram Narayan Shah, Father of Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah, Passes Away

Ram Narayan Shah, the father of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah, passed away on Monday afternoon. Mr. Shah had been admitted to Civil Hospital in Naya Baneshwor the previous day, Sunday morning.

Upon admission, Mr. Shah was placed on a ventilator as he received medical treatment. According to hospital sources, the cause of his condition was an infection in the urinary tract that subsequently spread throughout his body.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki visited the hospital earlier on Monday morning to meet with Mr. Shah. The passing marks a personal tragedy for the family of Mayor Shah and is noted within the municipal and national political sphere.
