Fire Destroys Waste Center in Rapti, Rs 6.7 Million Loss

A fire at the waste management and resource center in Punyapur, Rapti Rural Municipality–2, has caused damage worth Rs 6.7 million.

According to DSP Chakra Bahadur Shah from the District Police Office, the fire started this morning and destroyed a trust building, several machines, tiles, and interlock materials.

A house built for waste management was also completely burnt. Rapti Rural Municipality had been using this center for handling local waste.

The fire was brought under control in about two hours with the help of fire trucks from Gadhawa and Rapti Rural Municipality, along with a dozer.

Police said the cause of the fire has not been identified yet, and further investigation is ongoing.
