Gen-Z Activist Rakshya Bam Exits as Balen-Rabi Talks Conclude

Rakshya Bam, a prominent Gen-Z activist, has exited the venue where Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra (Balen) Shah and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane held high-level discussions on Thursday.

The meeting took place at the residence of Kumar Ben, an aide to Mayor Shah, in Jwagal, Lalitpur. The gathering saw a notable presence of other Gen-Z leaders, artists, and former lawmakers, underscoring the broad interest in a potential alliance between the two influential figures.

Lamichhane was the first to leave the premises after the conclusion of the talks. Shortly after his departure, Bam also exited the venue, briefly stating to observers that she intended to return later.

The dialogue between Shah and Lamichhane is being viewed as politically significant, with close associates of both leaders previously describing the meeting as a “decisive” step toward future cooperation.

Despite the intense speculation surrounding the nature of their agreement, aides have remained tight-lipped, refusing to disclose specific details of the discussions. The meeting comes amid a flurry of consultations by Mayor Shah, who has reportedly been meeting with various professionals and activists to discuss the roadmap for “alternative” political forces ahead of the upcoming elections.
