Cricket fans in Nepal can watch the Indian Premier League 2026 live on television as Kantipur Media Group has confirmed that Kantipur Max will broadcast the tournament for the second consecutive year.

The 19th edition of the Indian Premier League, which began in 2008, has already kicked off this week. The opening match featured defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Nepali viewers can watch all IPL matches live on Kantipur Max HD 1 and Kantipur Max HD 2. The broadcaster will provide full coverage, including pre-match shows, live matches, and post-match analysis, making it the most accessible and official viewing option in the country.

According to Mahesh Swar, chief executive officer of Kantipur Media Group, the goal is to bring major global sporting events closer to Nepali audiences. He also noted that IPL 2026 will be broadcast with English commentary, unlike some previous tournaments that featured Nepali commentary.

In terms of online viewing, official IPL streaming platforms available in India are generally restricted in Nepal due to regional limitations. Viewers are advised to rely on official television broadcasts rather than unofficial streaming websites or apps, which may pose legal and security risks.

Most IPL matches are scheduled at convenient times for Nepali viewers. Evening matches are typically played at 7:45 PM Nepal time, while afternoon matches begin at 3:45 PM.

Kantipur Max has also secured major sponsors for the IPL broadcast, including Xtreme Energy Drinks as title partner, along with Laminar Tiles and Mangalam Pipes as sponsors. The network has previously broadcast major events such as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Wimbledon Championships, and the Nepal Premier League.

With IPL now available on a domestic television channel, fans across Nepal can follow the tournament more easily without relying on foreign networks. The move is expected to further boost the popularity of cricket and increase IPL viewership in the country.
