Iran Rejects U.S. 15-Point Negotiation Proposal

Iran has rejected a 15-point negotiation proposal put forward by the United States, which was reportedly delivered through Pakistan as a mediator.

According to international media reports, the proposal whose full details have not been made public included provisions requiring Iran to dismantle its nuclear infrastructure in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions.

Iran’s state broadcaster, Press TV, citing a senior political and security official, confirmed that the proposal had been rejected. However, the official’s name and position were not disclosed.

The official stated that Iran would decide to end the war only after its conditions are met, saying, “Iran will make a decision to end the war once its terms are fulfilled.”

According to Press TV, the official outlined five key conditions for ending the conflict. These include a complete halt to “attacks and assassinations” by the opposing side, the establishment of a concrete mechanism to guarantee that no future attacks will be carried out against the Islamic Republic, compensation for war damages, an end to hostilities on all fronts, and international recognition and guarantees allowing Iran to exercise its sovereign rights in the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier, Israeli Economy Minister Nir Barkat, in an interview with the BBC, had said that although the U.S. proposal appears appealing on paper, it is unlikely that Iran would agree to it.
