Former PM KP Oli Admitted to Teaching Hospital Following Arrest

Former Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has been admitted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. He is currently staying in bed number 501 in the Annex One building.

Oli was brought to the hospital for a medical check-up after his arrest earlier today. Initially, he was placed in bed number 27 in the hospital’s Red Area, where a team of nephrologists, including Dr. Rabin Nepali, conducted a health assessment. Cardiologists also examined him. After blood tests, X-rays, and other evaluations, he was moved to Annex One, bed 501, according to hospital sources.

Oli was transported to the building in his own vehicle. The 501-bed unit typically accommodates patients undergoing kidney transplants. Oli is a kidney transplant patient and has undergone the procedure twice.

Earlier today, police arrested Oli from his residence in Gundu following recommendations for criminal action over alleged repression during the Bhadra 23–24 movement. Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak was also arrested today. Since Saturday is a public holiday, the plan is to present both of them in court on Sunday.
