Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mahabir Pun has also resigned from his post. Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal confirmed Pun’s resignation through a post on social media platform Facebook.

Khanal wrote, “Mahabir Pun has resigned to focus on his campaign.”

Following his resignation from the ministerial position, Mahabir Pun is set to contest the election as an independent candidate from Myagdi.
