Man Slips Into Mahakali River, Goes Missing

A young man went missing in the Mahakali River this afternoon. According to District Police Office spokesperson DSP Sagar Bohara, 28-year-old Sani Damai from Bhimdatta Municipality–3, Tilakpur, disappeared in the river.

He had gone to the Mahakali ghat to attend a funeral. While helping to prepare the funeral pyre, he slipped and fell into the river. Police and other security personnel are now searching for him.

Similarly, the body of another young man who went missing nine days ago in the Mahakali River has been found. The deceased, 21-year-old Roshan Damai from Bhimdatta–12, Odali, had gone missing while bathing in the Bhujela area. His body was discovered about 200 meters south of the Dodhara Chandani suspension bridge on the riverbank.

Police have handed over the body to the family after completing the necessary procedures.
