Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit by Bus in Chitwan

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a bus in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality of Chitwan along the Kathmandu–Muglin road section.

The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Jivan Pariyar of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-2, Gorkha.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning when a bus (registration number Sudurpaschim Province 01-001 Kha 3368) traveling from Dhangadhi to Kathmandu struck him in front of the cable car gate in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-4.

Pariyar sustained serious injuries in the accident and was immediately taken to Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan for treatment.

According to Police Inspector Pratik Singh of the Area Police Office, Muglin, doctors declared him dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Police have taken the bus driver, 42-year-old Subash Bishwakarma of Lamkichuha Municipality-12, Kailali, into custody and have launched an investigation into the incident.
