PSG Beat Liverpool as 10-Man Barcelona Fall to Atlético in Quarter-Finals

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a win in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday, while Barcelona suffered a defeat.

PSG beat Liverpool 2–0 in Paris. Désiré Doué opened the scoring in the 11th minute, before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia added a second goal in the 65th minute. PSG will now take a two-goal advantage into the second leg at Anfield.

Barcelona, meanwhile, lost 2–0 at home to Atlético Madrid. Reduced to 10 men, they now face the challenge of overturning the deficit away from home.

Pau Cubarsí was sent off in the 44th minute, leaving Barcelona under pressure. Atlético capitalised, with Julián Álvarez scoring in the 45th minute and Alexander Sørloth adding another in the 70th minute.

Atlético Madrid are still chasing their first-ever Champions League title.
