Singer Sujan Chapagain Issues Clarification Over Social Media Controversy

Nepali singer-songwriter Sujan Chapagain has issued a public clarification following recent controversy surrounding private messages allegedly linked to him that have circulated on social media.

In a statement shared online, Chapagain said he has been “extremely worried and saddened” by the developments over the past several days. He acknowledged that he had exchanged private messages in the past with friends and people he considered close, and expressed sincere regret for the distress caused by the situation.

“I want to sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart for the painful situation that has arisen,” he wrote.

However, Chapagain said he does not recognize all of the content that has been circulating online. He explained that he had not always managed his own social media accounts, stating that they were handled by social media management teams at different times. According to him, there may have been misuse of those accounts during those periods.

The singer also claimed that multiple fake accounts impersonating him are currently active on social media, further complicating the situation.

Chapagain said he has already initiated an investigation into what he described as irresponsible activities. He added that after completing his ongoing music tour in Australia, he will return to Nepal to pursue legal action against those responsible.

Concluding his statement, Chapagain once again apologized to his supporters and the public, saying that while there was no malicious intent on his part, he regrets the difficulties people have experienced because of the controversy and asked for their forgiveness.
