Thailand Starts Airstrikes on Cambodia

Thailand has started airstrikes against Cambodia. The Royal Thai Army said the air attack began after recent clashes between the two countries.

According to the BBC, the attack is happening in the disputed border area between Thailand and Cambodia.

On Monday morning, Thailand said Cambodian forces fired at its soldiers, killing two and injuring four. Later, the Thai Army changed the numbers and said one soldier was killed and eight were injured.

Cambodia, however, said Thailand started the attack first and that it only responded. Both countries are accusing each other of breaking the ceasefire.

Earlier, the United States President Donald Trump and Malaysia had helped both countries reach a ceasefire agreement.

Last July, the two countries fought for five days because of a border dispute. At least 48 people were killed and around 300,000 people were displaced during that conflict.
