Twitter (X) Down! Goes Offline for Users Worldwide Amid Major Cloudflare Outage

Twitter, now known as X, experienced widespread outages today as a major disruption in Cloudflare’s global network caused numerous platforms to go offline or become intermittently inaccessible.

Users across multiple regions began reporting issues accessing X early Tuesday, describing blank timelines, login failures, and complete site timeouts. The outage coincided with a broader Cloudflare incident that has impacted many services relying on the company’s infrastructure.

Cloudflare confirmed it is actively investigating the situation, stating the issue “potentially impacts multiple customers.” Though the company has not yet disclosed the root cause, the impact has rippled across the internet—X among the most notable platforms affected.

User Impact: Timelines Frozen and App Fails to Load

Reports from across social media indicate that the X mobile app and website both suffered failures, with many users unable to load posts or interact with the platform. Some regions experienced partial service, while others were met with complete downtime.

The outage underscores the extent to which major platforms depend on Cloudflare for DNS, routing, and security layers that keep services stable and accessible.

Additional Strain From Scheduled Maintenance

Complicating the situation, Cloudflare also has scheduled maintenance underway in key datacenters, including Santiago (SCL) and Tahiti (PPT). While these maintenance windows are localized, temporary routing changes and failovers may amplify performance problems during periods of instability.

Cloudflare noted that traffic is currently being re-routed from both sites, which may cause latency spikes and temporary unavailability for connected services.

X Remains Partially Down as Cloudflare Works Toward Resolution

As of this update, X has not released an official statement about the outage. However, service appears to remain unstable, with many users still reporting slow loading or complete inability to access the platform.

Cloudflare says it will share more information as soon as available, while engineers continue working to restore full stability across its global network.

Further updates will follow as this developing situation continues to unfold.
