Ujyalo Nepal Party to Inaugurate Central Office in Tripureshwor

The Ujyalo Nepal Party, a political entity backed by Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, is scheduled to formally inaugurate its central office in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, on Thursday. The new headquarters has been named “Ujyalo Ghar” (Bright House), reflecting the party’s branding and its focus on national transformation.

The inauguration ceremony is set to begin at 2:00 PM, with Minister Ghising attending as the chief guest. While Ghising currently holds three ministerial portfolios in the interim government—Energy, Physical Infrastructure, and Urban Development—he remains the primary patron of the party. The organization is currently led by former Energy Secretary Anup Kumar Upadhyay to maintain a non-partisan distinction for the sitting minister.

In a significant political development, the Ujyalo Nepal Party is also expected to announce an electoral alliance with the Janaswaraj Party. The Janaswaraj Party was recently formed by Deepak Kumar Shah following his departure from the Janamat Party. This move is seen as part of a broader strategy to consolidate alternative political forces ahead of the upcoming general elections.

The party, which uses the “electric bulb” as its election symbol, has recently unveiled a manifesto advocating for significant constitutional reforms. These include directly elected provincial councils and the appointment of ministers from outside parliament. The opening of the central office marks a major step in the party’s transition from a nascent movement into a structured political organization.
