What is Yuwa SIM, how can you get one, and is it better than other Ncell plans?

Ncell has launched a new youth-focused starter pack called Yuwa SIM, aimed at meeting the communication and digital needs of Gen Z users in Nepal. Designed to offer affordable connectivity and easy access to popular digital services, the pack officially came into effect from January 10.

What is Yuwa SIM?

Yuwa SIM is a special Ncell starter pack targeted at Nepali youth born after 1997. Priced at Rs. 299 (including taxes), the pack comes with a 28-day validity and offers a mix of voice, data, and digital platform benefits. Key features include unlimited Ncell-to-Ncell calls, 5GB mobile data, and free access to eSewa, Khalti, and the online learning platform ‘Mero School’.

Subscribers also receive discounted off-net calls at Re. 1 per minute to other local networks. After consuming the 5GB data, users can continue browsing using Pay As You Go data at 50 paisa per MB within the same validity period.

How can you get a Yuwa SIM?

To subscribe, customers need to visit the nearest Ncell Centre and submit required documents. These include a government-issued ID (such as a citizenship certificate or driving license) and a student ID. For minors, the guardian’s government-issued ID is required.

To continue enjoying the benefits, users must repurchase the same pack every 28 days. The pack can be renewed via the Ncell App or by dialing *123#.

What additional benefits does it offer?

Ncell has also introduced an exclusive add-on for Yuwa SIM users—a 1GB data pack valid for 1 day at just Rs. 19. This pack is focused on social media access, allowing unlimited use of Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram for 24 hours.

Is Yuwa SIM better than other Ncell plans?

Compared to standard prepaid plans, Yuwa SIM stands out for its youth-centric pricing and bundled digital services. With unlimited on-net calls, low off-net call rates, affordable data options, and free access to digital wallets and learning platforms, it offers strong value for students and young users. While it may not replace all general-purpose plans, it is particularly cost-effective for Gen Z customers who prioritize social media, education platforms, and frequent communication within the Ncell network.

Announcing the launch, Ncell’s Chief Consumer Business Officer Upanga Dutta said the company aims to keep youth connected while supporting their digital lifestyle and education, helping them link to opportunities and a digital future.

Overall, Yuwa SIM positions itself as a competitive and affordable option for Nepal’s youth, tailored to the services they use most.
