School Bus Accident Kills 8-Year-Old Boy in Kailali

A child has died after being hit by a school bus in Kailali.

Police said the accident happened on an inner road near Ghodaghodi Municipal Hospital in Ghodaghodi Municipality-2.

The bus of Sunrise Boarding School, Bauniya, driven by 57-year-old Bhagi Ram Chaudhary of Sadepani, hit an 8-year-old boy named Govinda Bista. Govind was a local resident and a Class 1 student at the same school.

After school, the boy was being taken home by the bus. While getting off the bus about 300 meters away from his house, the bus hit him. Police said he died on the spot.

Police have taken the bus and the driver into custody, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
