UAE Grants Amnesty to 128 Nepali Prisoners

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has granted amnesty to 128 Nepali nationals.

According to Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE pardoned the Nepali prisoners who had been serving jail sentences for various reasons on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement, the ministry expressed its sincere gratitude to the UAE government, saying, “The Government of Nepal extends its heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Government of the United Arab Emirates for granting pardon to 128 Nepali prisoners on the auspicious occasion of Ramadan.”

The ministry also acknowledged the humanitarian gesture, noting that the move reflects the growing goodwill and friendly relations between the two countries. It further stated that Nepal highly values this act of clemency.

The amnesty was granted following coordination by the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi, acting on a request from the Government of Nepal.
