Grand Theft Auto VI Pre-Orders Go Live Worldwide as Rockstar Prepares for Biggest Launch in Gaming History

Rockstar Games has officially opened pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI, with players around the world able to secure their copy starting at midnight local time on June 25.

The highly anticipated title, widely expected to become one of the largest entertainment launches ever, is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19. The game marks the first new mainline Grand Theft Auto release in more than a decade, following the record-breaking success of Grand Theft Auto V.

Alongside the standard edition, Rockstar is offering a Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition, which includes a range of exclusive in-game content designed to expand the experience from day one. The premium package features special vehicles, weapons, clothing items, and additional bonuses integrated throughout the story of protagonists Jason and Lucia.

Players who purchase or pre-order any edition before November 20 will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, a bonus collection inspired by the neon-soaked atmosphere and culture of Vice City, the iconic setting returning in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Rockstar has also confirmed that digital pre-orders will gain access to pre-loading beginning on November 12, allowing players to download the game ahead of release and jump into the action as soon as servers go live. Physical copies will also become available from November 12 and will include a download code inside the package, enabling buyers to pre-load before launch day.

The company is additionally offering one month of GTA+ membership at no extra cost for customers who pre-order digitally, providing access to premium benefits across Rockstar’s ecosystem.

Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the fictional state of Leonida and follows Jason and Lucia, a criminal duo whose story unfolds across a sprawling open world inspired by modern-day Florida. Early trailers have showcased dense urban environments, expansive rural regions, social media-driven storytelling, and the return of Vice City, one of the franchise’s most beloved locations.

Industry analysts believe the game could generate billions of dollars within its first year on sale. Research firms have previously projected that Grand Theft Auto VI may become one of the fastest-selling entertainment products ever released, surpassing records set by both video games and Hollywood blockbusters.

The launch is also expected to have a significant impact on the wider gaming industry. Several publishers have reportedly adjusted release schedules to avoid competing directly with Rockstar’s blockbuster title, highlighting the enormous influence Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to have on player attention and game sales during the 2026 holiday season.
