Hari Shrestha Elected RSP Gulmi President

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has elected Hari Shrestha as the new president of its Gulmi district committee.

Shrestha secured victory over rival Mahesh GC in the party’s first historic district convention, which concluded late Saturday. According to election coordinator Ashok Tandon, a member of the party’s Central Agriculture Department, Shrestha received 118 votes, while GC garnered 113 votes.

For the post of vice-president, Pragati Rana Magar emerged victorious with 127 votes. Her nearest rival, Nishesh Shrestha, secured 91 votes, while Bharat Pokharel, another candidate for the position, received 14 votes.

Devaraj Pandey was elected district secretary after obtaining 189 votes. His opponent, Niraj Marasini, received 40 votes.

Similarly, Gen Z Sagar Pandey was elected unopposed as joint secretary. He is a member of Generation Z.

The position of treasurer will be filled through nomination at a later date.

Members elected to the district committee include Maya GC, Debika Rana, Prem Bahadur Sunar, Bhagawat Giri, Diksha Bhandari, Asim Bhandari, and Tulasa Pokharel. Voting was also held for committee member positions.

The convention’s open and closed sessions were attended by RSP Secretariat member and lawmaker Sagar Dhakal, lawmaker Govinda Panthi, and Shraddha Kunwar.
